Paul Robertson, Head of Practice, has been quoted in an article reflecting the changes in Local Government career paths as a result of the public sector recession. The article has been published online in the Local Government Network section of the Guardian’s website.

Ways HR Consulting’s continuing partnership with Sunderland City Council, in their innovative talent management programme, is highlighted. Sunderland’s approach to people management, and their use of Career Sage as a means of communication and information, is one such example of how public sector organisations are adapting their traditional practices in order to survive in these times of austerity.

Paul is quoted to explain his perspective on how Local Government is changing its attitudes to recruitment and career paths. He says: “Qualifications and experience will get you into the interview room, but it’s now “behaviours and attitude” that will get you the job in local government.”
